Mel Kang
Mel is the CEO and the visionary behind the creation of Mezzle. He qualified as a solicitor in 2006 whilst working at a national law firm. He has been practising as a corporate solicitor since qualifying, specialising in healthcare corporate law and has worked as a consultant solicitor for the last 13 years (no one knows this legal space better than him).
Mel has a natural entrepreneurial flair for business, having successfully set up and ran a property development company, whilst still achieving much success as a lawyer. Mel’s focus is now on Mezzle, including overseeing the day to day operations, as well as its’ strategic direction and growth.
Outside of law, Mel is a super keen tennis fan and player. It is his ambition to see every ATP 1,000 event, as well as the global slams.
Jonathon Bray
Jon is the compliance director (non-executive) at Mezzle. He is a qualified solicitor, specialising in regulatory issues for professional service firms. A litigation and employment law background gives Jonathon a practical and commercial approach to risk management and compliance for law firms.
Jonathon has set up and successfully runs a compliance outfit to help firms, such as Mezzle, navigate a myriad of rules around a highly regulated sector. He has a wealth of experience in this field and is the perfect individual to oversee any compliance questions here at Mezzle. Our lawyers and clients can be assured that we have this area covered and Jonathon is always on hand to provide bespoke and tailored advice.
Outside of his work, Jonathon loves travelling and spending time with his family, including being a father to a lovely dog who has recently joined his family.
Raj Sumal
As the COO of Mezzle, Raj has been instrumental in developing the systems that are the heart of Mezzle and make it the success that it is. He qualified as a solicitor in 2007 and has been practising within the area of insurance law since then. Over the years, Raj has been responsible for managing many successful insurance litigation departments in both national and international law firms.
With this experience and knowledge, he co-founded Mezzle and is now responsible for ensuring the day-to-day operations are met and that the firm is successful at every stage of its journey through the industry. Innovation and development is what makes Mezzle different from the rest, and Raj is key to ensuring these objectives are met.
In his spare time, Raj is an avid fan of motor racing, both watching and competing in events too. He has always said if he was to choose a different profession to law, it would have been to race for one of the Formula 1 Teams and you never know, dreams can still come true!
