I am a Consultant Solicitor with over 20 years of experience in litigation and immigration law. My recent immigration work has involved advising upon and assisting in a variety of matters including:

  • Entry clearance for Spouse visas
  • Leave to remain extensions
  • Parent leave to remain on 10-year route
  • Indefinite leave to remain
  • Visitor visa
  • Student visas
  • British citizenship/ Naturalisation
  • Right of abode

My litigation experience has included conducting compensation claims arising from immigration detention, often cases referred to me following successful judicial review challenges against deportation or other adverse Home Office decisions.

I can investigate and pursue meritorious claims for false imprisonment on a Conditional Fee (no win-no fee) basis including cases which have not been subject to judicial review.

The majority of my past litigation work has involved complex occupational disease claims as well as general personal injury cases.  I have also conducted claims arising from alleged data breaches in a variety of contexts pursuant to UK General Data Protection Regulations in particular cases involving public bodies.

More recently, I have acted for landlords seeking possession of their properties following service of Section 8 or Section 21 notices.

Experience Highlights

I represented an EEA national in a claim against the Home Office for alleged unlawful detention. My client was detained for a total period of 150 days before he was released. The claim included damages for false imprisonment, breach of Articles 4,3, and 8 ECHR, pain and suffering, aggravated and exemplary damages.  The Home Office had initially made an opening offer of £5000 but eventually settled his claim for £75,000 and not until High Court proceedings had commenced.

In my previous personal injury litigation work, although many clients received modest sums of compensation, I felt proud to have secured £50,000 for a contact dermatitis claim.
