Expertise
Martin qualified as a solicitor in 1999 and developed as a specialist in criminal law. He has spent his career as a defence advocate with extensive experience in matters of corporate crime, fraud, bribery and corruption, organised crime, serious violence including murder, sexual offences, and traffic offences resulting in death or serious injury. He is an accomplished, persuasive and experienced jury and Military Court’s Martial advocate.
Martin maintains a regulatory practice offering a one-stop service from the earliest stages of any investigation through to prosecution and beyond in a wide range of matters including environment, health and safety, financial services regulation and all aspects of corporate liability.
Martin has also worked in Africa and the Middle East providing advice to European businesses starting up in those regions and has provided advice and guidance on diverse issues ranging from political relations, bribery and corruption, money laundering and risk management. He has also provided tailored and practical advice and guidance to a number of private military contractors on rules of engagement and operational legal risk.
